International pop sensation and proud Nanaimo native Lauren Spencer Smith lit up American late-night TV this week with a powerful performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter took the stage on Tuesday, August 19, performing If Karma Doesn’t Get You (I Will) – a track from her emotionally raw and recently released 2025 album, The Art of Being a Mess.

Spencer Smith, who first made waves with her viral ballads and breakout success on American Idol, continues to establish herself as one of Canada’s most compelling young voices. Her appearance on Kimmel marks another major milestone in her skyrocketing career.

A Global Stage for a Local Star

Hosted by comedian Tiffany Haddish, the Kimmel episode also featured actor Adam Scott (of Severance) and cast members from Haddish’s new show, Tiffany Haddish Goes Off. But it was Lauren’s heartfelt delivery and signature voice that stole the spotlight for many viewers.

The full episode is now available to stream on ABC.com and Prime Video, allowing fans around the world to catch the performance.

World Tour Launching in September

Lauren’s Kimmel appearance kicks off a world tour in support of The Art of Being a Mess, set to launch in September. Her globe-trotting schedule will include stops in Amsterdam, London, Sydney, Los Angeles, and more – taking her from Nanaimo to some of the biggest stages on Earth.

With her mix of vulnerability, vocal power, and West Coast roots, Lauren Spencer Smith continues to put Nanaimo on the pop music map.
