We Miss The Harewood Arms Pub

The Harewood Arms Pub, which closed at the end of 2014, was a great place to play pool or hear some live music while sipping on a cheap beer and eating a juicy hamburger.

Located at 508 Eighth Street just off of Bruce Avenue, The Hairy Armpit (as we used to call it) was opened in 1991 by Bill Dempsey and Harry Beck after they bought The Old Barn Inn.

Many Harewoodites have great memories of walking down to our local watering hole to watch the hockey game or hang out with the regulars.

As you can see from the photo above, the pub was attached to The Mayflower Chinese food restaurant and Crazy Mike's Video.

Ahhh those were the days.

After the retirement of the owners, the business was bought by Liquor Plus, who expanded the store and shut down the pub.
