There's a big reason to get in on this summer's Sun's Out, Fun's Out 50/50 raffle, and it's more than just a shot at winning cash.
Proceeds from this exciting fundraiser will help purchase fetal monitoring equipment for the maternity ward at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH), the primary birthing centre for families across central and northern Vancouver Island.
Supporting Safer Births Across the Island
Each year, more than 1,250 babies are born at NRGH and many of those are high-risk pregnancies that require specialized equipment and around-the-clock monitoring. The hospital serves not only Nanaimo, but expectant mothers from surrounding communities and even from the mainland.
That's why the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation (NDHF) is hoping to raise enough through the raffle to fund 16 new fetal monitors, which will ensure safer, more comfortable deliveries for both moms and babies.
"Proceeds support urgently needed state-of-the-art fetal monitoring equipment, providing safer births for every mother and baby, including continuous monitoring for high-risk pregnancies and pregnancies with risk factors from across the Island and the Province," says the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation raffle website.
