This Saturday, Deni's Dynamite Deals in Harewood is having a huge outdoor sale!

From 9AM-5PM on April 11, over 1000 items will be on sale for CRAZY DEALS, set up outside of Deni's Harewood store at 499 Seventh Street.

If you've never been to Deni's, now is the time to check it out. It's a unique thrift and antique store unlike anything that exists anywhere in the city of Nanaimo.

Find cool used bicycles, boats, kayaks, gardening equipment, camping gear, electronics, clothing, kitchen stuff, decorations and EVERYTHING else you can think of – and the proceeds go to local charities!

Used items are donated to Deni and he sells them – or very often just GIVES THEM AWAY – and uses profits to fund local groups in need.

Deni Bezeau has been donating huge amounts of cash to local institutions for years, including to places like John Barsby, NDSS and other local schools, the Boys & Girls Club, Kids For Sports, VIU Hockey, Nanaimo Youth Jazz programs, drama programs, sports teams and many other groups.

As well, Deni has been working with the local Salvation Army to give away dozens of breakfasts every morning to people in need, as well as donating full turkey dinners to hundreds of families at Christmas time, and also handing out $30,000 worth of gift cards to Quality Foods to neighbours who need them.

Deni, who has been a Nanaimo businessman for many years, took over the old building about 7 years ago, which used to be the famous Ye Olde Corner Store – and was originally one of Harewood's first stores.

Though he's long been a neighbourhood institution, Deni has plans to retire later this year, and has his sights set on running for a spot on the Nanaimo City Council – with a platform focusing on protecting Nanaimo's treasured outdoor spaces, building new gardening programs, and helping to make living in the city less expensive.

Deni told Harewood.life he wants to keep fighting to help the community and hopes that someone will take over the store and continue to donate to those in need.

Stop by Deni's this Saturday to cash in on some Dynamite Deals, and help your fellow Harewood community members in the process!
