Chase River & Cinnabar Valley Heritage Day

History and community were on display at Chase River and Cinnabar Valley Heritage Day today at the Chase River Elementary School field.

Dancing, singing, climbing, food trucks, tons of games and a contest to decide The Best Pie In Town! Fun for the whole family, just down the road from Harewood.

I was fortunate enough to bump into event organizer Katja Geiger (pictured above), who told me the event is meant to bring together people from the community, to meet their neighbours and get to know the people around them in the real world.

I also learned some fascinating history about the area from the heritage displays – and even made some new friends!
